Baby Drowning Warning Labels
September 27, 2006
Due to the broad range of uses for the 5-gallon pail, more and more are making their way into the home. Keep children away from buckets with even small amounts of liquids. Children can fall into a bucket and drown.
The pail industry has formed a voluntary program to ensure every 4-6 gallon pail is labeled with a caution label warning of this potential danger. This labeling has been adopted as an ASTM standard; designation F1615.
Plastican strongly recommends and urges all customers to add the ASTM approved baby drowning warning labels to all pails four gallons and above in capacity. For more information please visit www.astm.org.
