The history of Plastican is a story of innovation. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we are really celebrating the tradition of innovation begun in 1970 by Sandro Clementi and continued for 40 years by the many dedicated Plastican employees who have made us the company we are today.
From the very beginning, our vision has been to constantly increase the value that we bring to our customers through innovative design and engineering; a relentless program of zero-defect manufacturing; and consultative collaboration with fillers, packers and machinery manufacturers to improve our customers' products and processes. Plastican has always been a great believer in technology and the ways in which it could be used to make products better and more economical. From our first patented seal for food containers to our proprietary resin blends for hot-filled and frozen applications, Plastican has provided packaging solutions that are specific to our customers' needs.
Customer service has always been at the heart of Plastican's corporate culture. We are driven to deliver five-star customer service without fail in an environment in which government regulation, the environment, energy, raw-material costs and economic competition are increasingly important to us and our customers.
Over the last four decades, Plastican has grown by leaps and bounds. Plastican products are now sold throughout the United States and Canada and in many other markets around the world. Our four facilities now total more than 600,000 square feet. With more than 30 patents for rigid packaging and molding technologies, Plastican is an industry leader in the development of new and patented technologies.
As Sandro Clementi envisioned, Plastican will continue to probe the limits of design and technology on behalf of our customers. High-quality, cost-effective products and dedication to customer satisfaction will be important to our future precisely because they have been so important in our past. Although we have come a long way from our humble beginnings, we have not forgotten our heritage. That heritage is all about innovative adaptation to an ever-changing world, so we are looking forward — Plastican is 40 years young!

Our latest innovation, the Twist & Lock pail and cover system, offers the highest level of end-user convenience with all required regulatory and safety features. This product line was launched in 2008, and growing customer demand has already led us to commit significant capital to expand our production capacity and the line itself.
